Simply put, our Mission Statement is "Loving God. Loving Others."
This comes from Matthew 22 where Jesus tells his disciples that the greatest commandments are to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself.
As simple as this is, we believe it is also incredibly profound. To love God means that we will love others and loving others is evidence of our love for God.
This year we are narrowing our focus on discipleship as laid out in John 13:31, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, that you have love for one another."
From this we see that one of the fundamental calls of Christian discipleship is to express our love to one another, our sisters and brothers. What is remarkable is that Christ tells us that simply loving one another is an evangelistic tool.
We are taking intentional steps to love one another through acts of service, shared meals, visitations, etc.
