About Us

Hastings Church of the Nazarene started as a small store front church in downtown Hastings in 1932. Over these past 80+ years, HCN has moved locations multiple times, eventually landing in our current location on North Broadway. In 2002 we built our Family Life Center so that we can play, serve, and share life with one another and with our community. As we approach our centennial, we continue to be committed to uncovering the Kingdom of God right here in Hastings and Barry County.

Though we find ourselves in a particular community in Michigan, we are also committed to global missions; helping those who serve in various capacities and various countries over the earth. (Acts 1)

Simply put, our Watchword is "Loving God. Loving Others."

This comes from Matthew 22 where Jesus tells his disciples that the greatest commandments are to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself.

As simple as this is, we believe it is also incredibly profound. To love God means that we will love others and loving others is evidence of our love for God.
